Princeton Reject Club

Rejection is common at Princeton – and that’s a good thing

“At Princeton, we don’t only in the classroom, we also learn life skills — like how to deal with rejection ... While there are resources like precepts, office hours, and the McGraw Center available to help students overcome the academic learning curve, there are few resources that are available to guide students through the learning curve of handling rejections, the feeling of not meeting others’ expectations, and the feeling of letting oneself down.”

To alleviate student stress, Princeton must expand the pass/D/fail option

“To make students less stressed about their grades and GPAs, and to improve their standing in the post-graduate market, we can make the PDF option more useful by allowing students to PDF a course at any time throughout the semester.”

“The University administration should work to universally bring back Zoom lectures and recordings for the benefit of enhanced learning, rather than leaving it up to professors alone.”

How Princeton can better support students in job and internship searches

“At first I thought that I was the only one who missed these deadlines, but after speaking with more alumni and learning about their recruitment timelines, I discovered that I am far from the only student at the University who was caught off guard by the application timeline.”

Princeton must change its room draw process. Here’s why.

The University administration ought to recognize the parts of the room draw process that are causing inconveniences, listen to its students’ suggestions, and improve room draw in future years.

PSafe entrance

Princeton should change the prox system students use to enter their dorms

“Removing the prox part of entering one’s dorm does not mean we must sacrifice the extra security that it can bring. There are many other methods that the University can implement that function more effectively than the current system, while bringing the same level of security.”

Course Instructors should consider a hybrid office hours model, if they haven't already

“Since the technology already exists, course instructors ought to rethink the office hours options and utilize them to the fullest extent so that it makes everyone’s lives easier and provide better support for students’ success.”

The case for SugarEdu at Princeton

“By allowing so much access to sugar on campus and failing to educate students about the dangers of excessive sugar consumption, the University is unwittingly contributing to sugar-induced anxiety on campus.”
