Students demand Princeton preemptively bar Sen. Ted Cruz ’92 from on-campus recognition

The petition, titled “Demand that Princeton University Condemn & Bar Honorary Titles to Senator Ted Cruz ('92)”, states, “We, the writer and undersigned, believe that Senator Cruz’s support of lies alleging voting fraud not only undermines these basic egalitarian practices and values but is also directly linked to the attack on the Capitol.”

First-year Class Council candidates adjust to virtual campaigning

Twenty-seven first-years are running for five 2024 Class Council positions this semester. New rules allow candidates to collect signatures via an electronic petition and send messages to large group chats and listservs, which were not allowed previously.

The University’s Department of Religion and Program in Population Studies (PIPS) have announced that they will not accept graduate school applications for the fall 2021 cycle in order to better support their current graduate students.

Department of Education to investigate University following Eisgruber’s letter on racism

In a message to Eisgruber on Wednesday, Assistant Secretary in the Office of Postsecondary Education Robert King wrote that the University president “admitted Princeton’s educational program is and for decades has been racist” in his early-September message — prompting concerns that the University has been violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act for decades.
