Men's Basketball: Fresh-faced forward makes early impact

Eight games into his basketball career, freshman forward Denton Koon has already had an impact on his team. He is coming off of his best game of the season, in which he went six-for-seven from the field for 13 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds, four of them on the offensive glass, to help the Tigers beat Lafayette 69-54. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of his performance was the two dunks that fired up the home crowd.

On Tap with ... Charley Wang

Charley Wang of the men’s swimming team is part of a senior class gunning for its fourth Ivy League title in as many years. Wang earned second-team All-Ivy honors in 2009 and won the 100 butterfly last year in the Tigers’ biggest dual meet against Harvard and Yale. He sat down to talk to the ‘Prince’ about his unusual start in swimming, his dabble into a music blog and the characters that are his teammates.

Men's Hockey: For skaters, 'gap year' is the norm

In recent years, the University has encouraged newly admitted Princeton students to consider taking a year off before beginning college. This gap-year phenomenon has grown in popularity because it offers the opportunity to travel the world, explore yourself and gain a mature perspective before starting school. Although they do not necessarily participate in traditional gap-year programs, almost every member of the men’s ice hockey team takes a year or two off before starting college.

Men's Water Polo: Princeton tops UCSD, takes 3rd at NCAAs

BERKELEY, Calif. — With less than 30 seconds remaining in the NCAA Men’s Water Polo Consolation Game, No. 13 Princeton held the ball and an 8-7 lead over No. 10 University of California, San Diego. A failed attempt at a goal followed by a big defensive stop would see the Tigers through to victory, but a goal would put the game away for good. Freshman center Thomas Nelson elected to go with option two.

Men's Hockey: RPI, No. 9 Union visit Baker Rink

Back on its home ice for the first time in three weeks, the men’s hockey team will host two conference rivals this weekend at Baker Rink. On Friday night, Princeton (3-7-1 overall, 2-5 ECAC Hockey) will take on the last-place team in the conference, Rensselaer (3-10, 1-4). The following afternoon, the Tigers will face off against No. 9 Union (7-3-3, 3-2), which is two points ahead of Princeton in the ECAC standings and has played two fewer games.

Men's Basketball: Maintaining the Tiger legacy

Mitch Henderson ’98 is the centerpiece of a photograph that has been a key part of the identity of Princeton basketball for the last 15 years. Taken immediately after the final buzzer sounded on the Tigers’ 43-41 victory over defending national champion UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the photograph shows a disappointed Bruin Toby Bailey on the left, a shocked Sydney Johnson ’97 on the right and a leaping Henderson, arms stretched high in the air, in between.
