Huh becomes the 13th Princeton-affiliated individual to win the Fields Medal. Previous winners include current faculty members Charles Fefferman and Manjul Bhargava GS ’01, who received the Medal in 1978 and 2014, respectively.

In a majority opinion penned by Princeton University alumnus Justice Samuel Alito ’72, the Supreme Court held Friday that the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion. As news broke, many Princeton community members joined in the chorus of reproductive rights activists protesting the ruling across the nation, while some conservative alumni and professors lauded the decision.

On July 19, 2021, an eight-year saga came to a climax when Alejandro Zaera-Polo was terminated from the Princeton faculty. In the time since, the former dean of the School of Architecture has framed the story of his dismissal as a tale of “identity politics,” “academic authority,” and “codes of silence.” University administrators see it differently: The professor repeatedly failed to comply with policies, they say, and “damaged the educational interests” of students.
