Visual arts professor Joe Scanlan said the n-word while posing a question to students in his seminar. After a student raised an official complaint to the University, the Office of the Provost concluded that there was no violation of University policy, according to an email shared with the ‘Prince.’ Following the use of the word, multiple students in the class told the ‘Prince’ that they would like to see Scanlan fired.

The dining pilot was officially announced today in an email by Chris Burkmar of Campus Life and Maureen McWhirter of University Services following over a month of student-wide discussions. According to the new web page, it aims to promote “fluidity” in the upperclass student dining experience.

During the event, protestors stayed in a taped 7 by 9 foot square, the typical size of a solitary confinement cell. The protest lasted for 23 hours, gesturing to the 23 hours a day that people in solitary confinement must stay in their cells.
