Borough considers new zoning district

Supporters who advocated against the University’s plan to move the Dinky station southward are looking for other ways to bring public rail transit further into town. Some seek to create a special committee concerned with the University Place corridor in hopes that this would facilitate the far-off possibility of replacing the Dinky with a light-rail system running as far north as Nassau Street.

Redistricting mulled at meeting

On Wednesday evening, the Mercer County Board of Elections held its second general public meeting for Princeton residents with the purpose of presenting two possible scenarios for new election districts in the soon-to-be consolidated Princeton.As requested by the University, in the potential election districts map presented to the audience, all the undergraduate and most of the graduate dorms were drawn into one district, with the main campus covered by only two districts.

Journalist Hedges speaks on nationwide Occupy movement

Invited to speak to a crowd of Occupy Princeton supporters gathered Tuesday evening at Campus Club, Hedges commented on the Occupy movement across the country. A supporter of and activist within the Occupy movement, Hedges started off by discussing the history of radical, socialist and populist movements in America. He then mentioned the current status of Occupy movements, especially the protests in Zuccotti Park, as he has first-hand experience protesting in New York City with the Occupy movement.

New York Times editor talks fallout of financial crisis

To understand the state of the nation three years after “one of the most upsetting and baffling episodes of financial history,” one must examine current economic practices and regulation of the financial services industry through a historical lens. Only thus can one determine whether those involved in creating and enabling the 2008 crisis have been held accountable Gretchen Morgenson, assistant business and financial editor and columnist at the New York Times, argued before a crowd of 150 in Dodds Auditorium on Monday night.
