Krueger to leave Council of Economic Advisers, return to Princeton in fall

Alan Krueger will step down as chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, theWhite House announced Tuesday. Krueger will return to the University in the fall as his two-year public service leave comes to an end. Though plans have not yet been finalized and he is not listed on the Course Registrar’s website, Krueger told The Daily Princetonian on Wednesday that he hopes to return to the classroom to teach as the Bendheim Professor of Economics and Public Affairs with a joint appointment in the Wilson School and the economics department. “I want to recharge my batteries and share some of my experience with students,” Krueger said in an email Wednesday.

Public Safety and town police reach agreement but will not make details public

The University’s Department of Public Safety and the Princeton Police Department have reached a formal agreement on their operating procedures, which includes increased communication between the two departments, coordinated training efforts and clarified jurisdictions for each department. The agreement will codify practices that have already been in place for some time and does not represent a shift in policy, Public Safety Director of Operations Stefanie Karp explained. Princeton Police Captain Nick Sutter, who iscurrently acting chief of the department, said the agreement is a strategic document that will not be made available to the public.

USG considers handing over summer storage to Student Agencies

In its final meeting of the semester, the USG Senate discussed the continuation of the Summer Storage Initiative, the addition of activities to Intersession and the large jump in freshman voting during the last USG Spring 2013 elections. Currently, Hae Bin Kim ?13 and Deana Davoudiasl ?15 lead the SSI, an initiative founded in 2010 that provides students with inexpensive storage over the summer.
