Undergraduate women create new club for right-of-center women

In an interview, Berger explained the function of the new chapter of the Network of Enlightened Women or NeW, will be to provide community and space for open dialogue among right of center women at the University. Berger is currently listed as the group’s president, and Caroline Pritt ’20 (check) is listed as treasurer, according to ODUS’s website.

U. releases public preview of new website

The last time the University updated its website was 2007 — when there were no tablets and few mobile devices. On April 19, the University released a public preview, beta.princeton.edu, of a new design for its main website. The new website fluidly adapts from a mobile to computer screen. Students, faculty, staff, and other visitors to the site are welcome to provide input and feedback on the new website design.

Snell argues that the classification of personhood does not exist

R.J. Snell emphasized that he did not want to establish and defend a thesis about the meaning of personhood. “I’d rather us just try to reflect together on some basic intuitions that we may or may not share,” Snell said. He described a hypothetical situation in which the audience would debate whether one of the particular audience member was a person.

"The Great Gatsby" director Baz Luhrmann named 2017 Class Day Speaker

Academy Award-nominated film director, screenwriter, and producer Baz Luhrmann has been invited to address the Class of 2017 at the Class Day ceremony on Monday, June 5, according to a University press release. Class Day takes place on the eve of the University’s Commencement and is being organized by members of the graduating class. “[Luhrmann’s] life exhibits what it is like to dream, preserve and explore the full breadth of one’s desires and passions, which is a fitting mindset to convey to graduates before entering the real world,” Class Day co-chair Deana Hamlin ’17 said in the release.

Santorum discusses degradation of traditional American values

On Tuesday, former U.S. Representative and Senator Rick Santorum discussed the degradation of “traditional American values." Santorum noted that one particular value – freedom – is equally important for both members of the Left and Right, especially among modern youth. According to Santorum, the manner by which the United States both conceptualizes and celebrates freedom is what sets the United States apart from other nations. He noted that Americans' unique view of freedom has been a key driver of the United States' rise to the status of world power.
