New Jersey’s minimum wage to increase to $14.13/hour

The minimum wage in New Jersey is expected to increase to $14.13 as of Jan. 1, in accordance with a multi-phase plan to increase the statewide minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2025. The change will cause an increase in wages for a number of on-campus jobs, including library employees and Reunions ushers.

Grant Wahl ’96, who has written for Sports Illustrated and served as a correspondent for Fox Sports, died at age 49 after collapsing at a FIFA World Cup quarterfinal match in the host nation. Wahl has been commended at this year’s tournament for his tireless and incisive reporting on human rights abuses.

Stephen Daniels ’24 won the USG election for president alongside running mate Madi Linton ’24, who ran for vice president. The pair received 60.9 and 54 percent of student votes, respectively.

Some students chose to engage with the protestors or counter their speech. Those who engaged took a variety of tactics: challenging the protesters’ rhetoric directly, taking photos in front of the signs, or yelling out to the crowd. Several students who walked by the crowd commented that they thought the protestors were “joking” or laughed at the extremist protestors’ statements.
