Results for the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) election were released on April 18. The elections featured over two dozen contested candidates for the U-Councilor and Class of 2028 student government positions. All positions for Class of 2026 and 2027 student government, meanwhile, were uncontested.

Voting for the USG spring elections opened April 14 at 12 p.m. and remained live until April 16 at 12 p.m. Twelve students ran for 10 U-Councilor positions, including three who re-ran and were ultimately re-elected: Luqmaan Bamba ’27, Ila Prabhuram ’27, and Jaden Stewart ’26. The positions of the Class of 2028 President, Vice President, and Treasurer were all contested, with two students running for each.

U-Councilors serve on both the USG Senate and the Council of the Princeton University Community (CPUC), making them active participants in campus governance and University-wide decisions.

“In addition to their roles as voting members of the USG Senate, U-Councilors also consider policy questions that come before the CPUC, such as amendments to Rights, Rules and Responsibilities, discussions surrounding campus climate, campus investment, planning, and construction, transit policy, and more,” U-Councilor chair Daniel Shaw ’25 wrote to the ‘Prince.’

Positions like class president and treasurer handle class-wide events and budgeting, according to USG President .

Winners for the contested U-Councilor position include: Shria Ajay ’27, Bamba, Jeanley Boursiquot ’27, Malcom Tafadzwa Dzimiri ’28, Angela Li ’28, Prabhuram, Caleb Rosenfeld ’27, Genevieve Shutt ’26, Stewart, and Stanley Stoutamire Jr. ’27. All three candidates that re-ran secured their spot as a U-Councilor in this election.

For the uncontested elections for the Class of 2026, Minna Abdella ’26 won President, Sol Choi ’26 won Vice President, Shannon Yeow ’26 won Treasurer, Kriti Garg ’26 won Secretary, and Aarushi Adlakha ’26 won Social Chair.
