Lauren Blackburn ’26 has been reported as a missing person, according to The Department of Public Safety (DPS). The University did not provide additional comment.
A TigerAlert was sent to the University community at 11:03 this morning stating that Blackburn was reported missing.
According to the email, Blackburn is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen on Saturday at around 6 p.m. near Firestone Library wearing “blue jeans with torn knees, a yellow t-shirt with a black, zippered hooded sweatshirt, and blue, flat bottom shoes.”

In a follow-up email to all undergraduates sent in the afternoon, Vice President for Student Life W. Rochelle Calhoun wrote that resources and support are available at Counseling and Psychological Services and the Office of Religious Life, as well as the residential colleges and graduate school.
“I will share an update when we know more, but in the meantime please hold Lauren in your thoughts as we attempt to locate him,” Calhoun wrote.
Around midnight Tuesday morning/Monday night, DPS began an ongoing water search in Lake Carnegie after a missing person’s phone pinged in the area. It was not immediately clear whether the phone belonged to Blackburn.
Sonar units and drones from Hamilton Township and K-9 units are being utilized in the water search.
Lake Carnegie is man-made, built in 1906 for the University’s rowing teams.
DPS has requested that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Blackburn contact them immediately at (609) 258-1000, and noted there may be increased law enforcement activity on campus “related to this situation.”
