Beyond the canonized images of Macy’s larger-than-life balloon floats or the afternoon sun shining brightly off of Dallas Cowboys’ helmets, Thanksgiving brings one essential and mouth-watering thought to mind: food.
Each Thanksgiving break, a considerable number of Princeton students stay on campus — but this is no reason to miss out on the iconic food Thanksgiving brings each year. Whether you are looking for a classic Thanksgiving Day feast or simply a delicious meal, here is a list of some of the leading restaurants and cafes in Princeton’s downtown area that will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
Witherspoon Grill
This upscale restaurant that shares Witherspoon Street’s name will be serving Thanksgiving dinner to guests beginning at 1:30 p.m. Staples such as turkey, lamb, and pork will be available. Reservations are recommended for visitors to the restaurant.
Chez Alice Patisserie
Open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the charming Chez Alice Patisserie will be offering Thanksgiving classics such as pumpkin, apple crumb, and pecan pies, as well as themed pastries like pecan croissants.
maman
Homey cafe maman, known for its floral aesthetic, will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will serve an extensive range of holiday-themed pastries and drinks that include a pumpkin spice oatmeal cookie, spiced apple crumb cake, vegan pumpkin spice carrot cake, pumpkin pie latte, and more.
Olives
The all-encompassing traditional bakery and deli will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will offer different Thanksgiving-themed lunch platters.
PJ’s Pancake House
Open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Princeton staple will continue to serve its regular menu.
Thai Delight
Looking for an alternative to turkey and stuffing? Nassau Street’s Thai Delight will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will serve a wide range of meals, from pad thai to red curry.
The Nassau Diner
Located in downtown Princeton, The Nassau Diner will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its Thanksgiving special includes a classic Thanksgiving dinner, a holiday-themed pumpkin flatbread appetizer, and pumpkin and squash soup alongside apple and pecan pie.
