The University faculty has voted to approve calendar reform, changing the timing of first-semester final exams to before the December holiday break instead of after.
According to tweets from the University, the changes to the academic calendar will go into effect with the fall term of the 2020-21 academic year. This change makes students in the Class of 2021 the first to experience the new calendar.
The revisions, which were discussed in a previous faculty meeting on April 2, also include the creation of a two-week “Wintersession” in January instead of the traditional one-week Intersession between semesters. Students could use the Wintersession period to complete independent work or short internships.
This is a breaking story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
