As a farewell to President Tilghman, a cake competition will be held on April 28th in which teams will compete to see who can bake and decorate a winning design. Four finalists, one from each class, will be chosen based on their design drawing and will meet with the University Pastry Chef manager Heather Minnich to determine necessary ingredients. The four teams will then battle it out in a live competition where they attempt to bake the cake they have drawn up and thought out. Cakes will be judged on flavor, appearance, theme and uniqueness of design.
This cake competition as a farewell to an administrator was first done in 2011 as a farewell to Dean Malkiel. This original competition was a huge success but the upcoming one for President Tilghman is sure to take the cake!
