To our readers —
After a nine-day absence, The Daily Princetonian’s website has been restored to full functionality. We thank you for your patience and for continuing to follow the news on our temporary website in the interim.
On Friday, March 29, the drives hosting our website’s servers malfunctioned. Since then, we have received many inquiries about whether the crash was caused by increased traffic due to the viral letter to the editor by Susan Patton ’77 published that same day. While this is a possibility, we have not definitively identified the root cause of the server malfunction.
We are currently far along in the process of a responsive redesign of the ‘Prince’ website. In addition to being more compatible with digital storytelling and providing a better user experience, the new site will be backed by a deeper technological capacity to prevent outages like this from happening again.
