Field hockey head coach Kristen Holmes-Winn was named the NFHCA National Coach of the Year this week, receiving the honor after leading Princeton to its first NCAA championship in program history in November.
Holmes-Winn completed her 10th season as head coach of the Tigers; she has won nine Ivy League titles in that span, posting an overall record of 131-57. As a player, assistant coach and head coach at Iowa and Princeton, Holmes-Winn had previously reached five Final Fours but had never won a national championship.
She joins several players in receiving postseason honors at the national level. Senior midfielder Katie Reinprecht was named the NFCHA National Player of the Year and won the Honda Sports Award for field hockey; Reinprecht, junior midfielder Julia Reinprecht and senior striker Kathleen Sharkey were named first-team All-America.
