The committee searching for a replacement for outgoing University president Shirley Tilghman expects to have “quite a list of candidates” by the end of December, Kathryn Hall ’80, the chair of the search committee told Princeton Alumni Weekly on Monday. Internal checkpoints like this December date had not yet been released by the search committee, which has prioritized confidentiality during the search process.
The search committee was announced on Oct. 15 and unveiled a website soliciting feedback eight days later on Oct. 23. Last week, the committee held four open forums to hear the views of graduate students, staff, local residents and the broader University community.
The 17-member committee is scheduled to meet once or twice a month and has met at least twice in Princeton already, most recently this past weekend. It said it plans to make a full recommendation to the University Board of Trustees by late March or early April.
