Of the 12,077 applicants, the University accepted 1,226. The number of applicants rose 3 percent over last year, and the number of international applicants also rose by 8.4 percent.
David Redman, the associate dean for academic affairs at the Graduate School, said that more international students applied than U.S. citizens.

“It’s gratifying that the Graduate School continues to be a very attractive place for students from all over the world for graduate study at the master’s and doctoral levels,” he said in a press release.`
The yield this year was 49.7 percent, while the 2011 yield was 52 percent and the 2010 yield was 53 percent.
