Freshman outside hitter Cody Kessel led the hosts with 18 kills, while sophomore Davis Waddell was Princeton’s most efficient hitter, notching 15 kills against two errors on 28 attempts. Waddell notched seven blocks, a feat matched by freshman middle blocker Will Siroky, as the Tigers frustrated Kean into 30 attack errors.
Princeton was two points away from ending the match in the fourth set, but consecutive errors by sophomore outside hitter Jeff Stapleton gave Kean a 27-25 win to extend the contest into a deciding fifth game. The hosts never trailed in the final set, reeling off four consecutive points to take a commanding 8-3 lead. Stapleton closed the match with a pair of kills.
The Tigers host Baruch on Saturday before resuming conference play against NJIT next Wednesday night.
