This week’s victory continues a pattern of success for Shon, who tied for first in her previous tournament, the Low Country Intercollegiate. The sophomore edged some of the Ivy League’s top individuals from Brown, Penn, Yale and Dartmouth, suggesting that she will be one of the main contenders at the Ancient Eight championship.
Two other Tigers competed in the two-day tournament. Senior Wonji Choi finished tied for 18th place at plus-18, while freshman Christine Kong tied for 42nd at plus-32. Princeton did not participate in the team scoring, which was won by St. John’s.
The team takes three weeks off before the Ivy League Championship at the Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway, N.J., on April 27-29.
