Sophomore pinch hitter Ryan Albert hit a two-out RBI single to left field, and senior catcher Sam Mulroy followed up the middle with another RBI single. However, the Tigers were unable to score in the ninth and fell to the Broncs 10-9.
Princeton put itself in the hole early despite scoring first in the opening inning to go up 1-0. In the bottom of the first, Rider took advantage of seven walks and six wild pitches, blowing open an 8-1 lead.
The Tigers immediately responded with a six-run top of the second and slowly chipped away at the Broncs’ lead, but Princeton was unable to come up with the win.
Having dropped a series to Columbia 3-1 last weekend, the team will need to bounce back quickly this weekend when Tigers takes on Cornell in a four game series split between Princeton and Ithaca.
