Carolyn Vasko ’13 allegedly struck a male victim in the face and then allegedly locked him in a room at Tower, according to the Borough police. The incident was reported to the Department of Public Safety at 1:43 a.m., and Public Safety then contacted the Borough.
“She blocked the closed door, preventing the victim from exiting,” Borough Police Captain Nick Sutter said in an email.
He said that he did not know a specific motive for the alleged assault, but said that it resulted from an argument.
The victim is a 20-year-old male, but his identity is being withheld by the police. It is unclear whether the victim is a student.
Joey Barnett ’12, president of Tower, said he did not know any details about the matter and declined to comment. Barnett is also the former associate opinion editor at The Daily Princetonian.
Vasko also declined to comment.
“Even though Public Safety is able to respond to calls from the eating clubs, they must contact the Borough Police if they find allegations of criminal behavior there,” Public Safety Deputy Director of Operations Charles Davall said in an email.
“Our policy is that if we learn of a crime that occurs outside our jurisdiction, we refer the complaintant to the appropriate police department,” Davall added.
“The incident … occurred in the jurisdiction of Princeton Borough police, and the circumstances of the incident required that we notify Princeton Borough police,” Davall explained.
