The Borough received 28 applications last month, while the Township received 31. There are four spots open for each town on the transition committee, according to the Princeton Packet. Elected officials and the administrators of both towns will also serve on the committee.
Borough and Township residents voted in November to consolidate their municipalities — a process that will commence in 2013 — under the Borough form of government.

The move is expected to save $3.2 million annually as duplications across the towns are trimmed. The move has received national media attention and a positive rating by the Moody’s credit rating agency.
