To this end, the article states, Goldman Sachs has canceled its information session earlier this year at Penn and has also downsized the number of interviews available to studens.
Senior Associate Director of Career Services Barbara Hewitt told The Daily Pennyslvanian that companies can ensure their employees are a “good fit” by hiring students who have previously held an internship with the organization where they are applying instead of those with no prior experience with the company.
Hewitt added that Penn is one of Goldman Sachs’ largest feeder schools, with 90 students interning with the company last summer. She also noted that seniors are less likely to test out several different jobs today than they were in 2006 and 2007 because of the current state of the economy and employment in the United States.
Last Thursday, around 20 Princeton students staged a protest at a Goldman Sachs recruiting event at the University as part of the Occupy Princeton movement, which was founded in response to the Occupy Wall Street campaign this fall.
