The Tigers are coming off an exciting win against No. 8 Penn this past Wednesday. The Tigers won with a score of 11-7, both ending Penn’s 34-game Ivy League win streak and earning a place in the Ivy League Tournament that will take place May 6–8.
The Tigers are now in a three-way tie for second place in the Ivy League with Dartmouth and Harvard. Each of these teams has one in-conference loss. Penn still leads with a 5-1 record courtesy of having played an extra game.
“The win against Penn really gave us a lot of confidence,” junior defender Cathy Bachur said.
“It showed us what we’re capable of doing, and gave us a big push going into the game against Dartmouth.”
“The team feels confident going into the weekend,” senior captain and attack Lizzy Drumm said.
“Our win against Penn was huge. We brought a calm intensity and focus to the field and plan to bring the mentality on Saturday.”
Dartmouth has a .449 shot percentage, second in the Ivy League, with a .519 free-position percentage. The team is led offensively by Kat Collins, who has 25 goals, and Greta Meyer, who has 21 goals.
Dartmouth has so far outscored its opponents 118 goals to 89.
“Dartmouth is a tough competitor,” Drumm said.
“All Ivy teams bring their A-game but Dartmouth is a particularly aggressive team.”
Princeton has a .445 shot percentage, with a .400 free-position percentage. The Tigers are led in scoring by Drumm, who has scored 28 goals, junior midfielder Cassie Pyle, who has 20 goals, and sophomore attack Jaci Gassaway, who has 19 goals. Princeton has outscored its opponents 126 goals to 117 this season.
“It’s nice to see our hard work coming together at the end of the season,” Bachur said.

“We are clicking in a lot of ways, but we are still working hard on the small things. Right now we are in control of our season based on the level we play whenever we step on the field.”
“We are definitely pumped going into this weekend,” senior goalkeeper Erin Tochihara said.
“We want to carry over the momentum from this Wednesday into Saturday’s game. As a senior, it is bittersweet that the season is wrapping up quickly, but I hope that we have plenty more lacrosse to play this spring. As a team, we want to finish strong, and even though there are a few games left of the regular season, we are looking to improve with every game.”
Princeton faces off against Dartmouth this Saturday, April 23, Columbia for the final Ivy League game on Wednesday, April 27 and Penn State the following Saturday.
After that, the Tigers will compete in the Ivy League Tournament for the postseason championship.
“We are not the same team that started this February and will look to continue to grow all the way through May,” Tochihara said.
