Regarding ‘Putting Humpty Dumpty together again,' (Monday, May 5, 2008):
While President Tilghman does not necessarily make all of the day-to-day decisions that directly impact student life, she is the public face of the administration. It is therefore worth noting that two years ago, she told The Daily Princetonian that "It would be truly foolish for a university to admit brilliant students from all over the world, and then pay no attention to their views about the University" (Thursday, April 26, 2006.)
The student body has recently spoken on this matter in a referendum where most believe that the administration does not listen to student input when creating substantial campus policies. How does President Tilghman's statement square with this fact?
Let's hope the dynamic between the student body and the administration changes for the better so that the results of next year's referendum survey questions are more positive.
