PRIDE Alliance encourages campus to ignore Fred Phelps
On Monday morning the campus will receive a visit from members of the Westboro Baptist Church and their leader Fred Phelps. They will be here from 7:30-8:30 a.m. to protest the appointment of Professor Peter Singer to the Princeton University faculty.
Mr. Phelps preaches an unspeakably vile message of hatred and is best known for his website (www.godhatesfags.com) and for picketing Matthew Sheppard's funeral.
We urge you not to pay attention to Fred Phelps and his fellow protestors. We feel that to do so would only give them the attention that they require to disseminate their narrow-minded message of hatred and intolerance.
