Prospects are bright for Tilghman presidency
We are overjoyed by the appointment of Shirley Tilghman to president of Princeton. Not only is she an incredible scientist, woman and professor, but she truly cares about Princeton students. As freshmen, we had the good fortune of being students in STC 199, one of the few undergraduate classes professor Tilghman has taught in the past few years. Not only was she a fascinating lecturer, but she was our advisor on an independent research project, dedicating her time and interest to our project that was not even related to her field of study. The amount of energy she put into helping a group of freshmen who were not even planning to major in science showed us how lucky we were to be attending Princeton and working with such an amazing professor. Since that time, she has been a friend and one of the professors we feel closest to on campus.
