Brownlee clarifies statement concerning GSG elections

I appreciate the detailed coverage the 'Prince' gave to graduate student elections in its March 9 article "GSG holds first popular elections."

One of the quotes attributed to me, however, did not convey the point I had intended. During the interview I tried to communicate that the Princeton graduate student body — as a whole — having never experienced open and competitive student government elections, faced difficulties and challenges akin to those of national governments establishing democratic institutions. As it appeared in the article that point may not have been clear to the reader. I thank the 'Prince' for printing this note of clarification. Jason Brownlee GS
