Weekend Wrap-up

Crew

The Princeton heavyweight men opened their season Saturday with a win in Annapolis, Md., against Navy. All five Tiger crews finished ahead of their Midshipmen counterparts, including the No. 4 varsity eight — which won by a margin of nearly eight seconds. The women's open squad did not fare quite as well against Ivy-rival Brown at Lake Carnegie on Saturday. The Tiger varsity eight jumped out to a quick start against the Bears, but faded in the final 500 meters to finish five seconds behind.

After beginning its weekend by splitting a Friday doubleheader with intrastate rival Rutgers — losing 5-3 and winning 5-0 — Princeton traveled north Saturday and Sunday to take on UMass and St. Peter's. Princeton split both doubleheaders. The Tigers lost to UMass, 5-2, before defeating the Minutemen, 5-4. Princeton then won its opener against St. Peter's, 1-0, only to fall in game two, 2-1.
