Men's golf wins home invite

Coming off the men's golf team's victory in the Ivy League tournament, Princeton went into this weekend looking to defend its home course.

The Tigers won the rain-shortened Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club behind the strength of a three-under par 68 by senior captain Judd Pritchard.

Pritchard captured the individual title in the competition as the Tigers shot a four-over 288 as a team on the day to take the overall crown.

Princeton has now won its past three team tournament championships.

The tournament was shortened from two rounds to only the one Saturday due to heavy rainfall and winds Friday.

Softball

Needing a perfect weekend to clinch a share of the Ivy title, Princeton suffered a devastating two-game sweep at the hands of Dartmouth. The Tigers dropped the opener Friday, 9-7. The Big Green then took the second game Sunday, 6-0. Princeton's doubleheader against Harvard, originally scheduled for Sunday, was postponed due to inclement weather.

Women's Track

Despite the weather, the Tigers headed to the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, Pa., and ran away with some strong showings. Junior Kristi Rosso and freshman Sarah Rivlin finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 3000. In the 800, freshman Emily Smith earned a fifth place finish with a time of 2:19.11.
