Students, not professors, balance workload
Jeff Wolf '02's column in yesterday's 'Prince' left much to be desired. Does he honestly expect professors to assign less work because we have to take other classes? Does he honestly think that it's a novel concept to complain about our workloads as students? If Mr. Wolf feels that it's unfair that all of his professors assign him 300 pages of reading per week, perhaps he should not have chosen such classes in the first place. No one at this University has a gun put to his head, forcing him to take four demanding courses.
It is not a professor's job to think about the other work students have to do; it is the student's job to choose courses so as not to become overworked. This is a trick of the trade I would dare say most students here have learned, but apparently Mr. Wolf has not. Isn't the point of newspaper columns to display observations of wisdom rather than naivete? It is unfortunate that readers of the 'Prince' must settle for the latter rather than the former.
