None of Philadelphia's Big Five qualified for the tournament this year, continuing a general trend of horrible Philadelphia sports teams. Fortunately, I can now be completely objective.
In a season where there is a big gap between the very top teams and the rest of the field there won't be any surprises this year.
I'm going out on a limb and picking the four No. 1 seeds– Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, and Kansas to reach the Final Four.
The return of Elton Brand makes Duke the team to beat.
Finals: Duke over Arizona, 66-58.

I considered making Final Four picks based on team nicknames. Especially after watching an all-Wildcat final last year – how boring. Of course, if it was all Tigers with Princeton and Clemson, I wouldn't mind.
We could have the TCU Horned Frogs, the Radford Highlanders, the Richmond Spiders and the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. Now those are some fun names.
Seriously, I like North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky and Maryland to advance to San Antonio.
The winner? Kentucky, coached by Tubby – another fun name.

Who's going to win? Don't ask me – I hate giving my picks, especially for everyone to see. But I have to, so here goes.
Final four projections: 1. Kansas 2. Duke 3. Connecticut (can't be UNC because Princeton's going to beat the Tar Heels) 4. Utah
Eventual national champ: Kansas, because the team chokes every year but someone has to pull for the poor Jayhawks. And my brother owns a Kansas hat. It's all about the hat.
