Avoiding discussion of the potential for any disciplinary proceedings, Assistant Dean of Student Life Marianne Waterbury confirmed yesterday there have been "conversations" between her office and officers of eating clubs due to concerns raised over this week's Bicker.
The conversations were sparked primarily by deans' worries over "excessive consumption of alcohol" among minors at the eating clubs, Waterbury said.
"If there are violations that come to our attention, we would follow up on them," she said. However, she noted that as of now, there are only "conversations," not investigations.
"I can't say that there will be no disciplinary action or no investigation against anyone," Waterbury said. "I just don't know."
She declined further comment on whether any disciplinary proceedings may result from Bicker, citing confidentiality requirements.
Waterbury also declined to list the clubs participating in the talks, but said Tiger Inn was one of clubs, though it was not "singled out."
On Monday, sources close to T.I. said the club's president, Jason Brasno '98 and vice president, Jason Wortendyke '98, stepped down from their posts just weeks before their terms expired.
Waterbury said she had not had conversations with either of the students before they stepped down and did not learn of their moves until a reporter from The Daily Princeton-ian called her Tuesday.
"We did not get involved in any decisions about their officers," said Assistant Dean Sandra Silverman.
This week's Bicker conversations come amid a regular round of meetings between the student life office and club officers in which the administration usually stresses its concerns over alcohol, Waterbury said.
However, the assistant dean said she could not say specifically when this week's talks took place, only that they have occurred since Monday morning.
"Tiger Inn and other clubs drew our attention," she said. "We absolutely had to have conversations with various members of various clubs."
