Two of this year’s 24 MacArthur fellows are affiliated with Princeton University. Choreographer Kyle Abraham is a guest instructor in the University’s dance program. Playwright Tarell McCraney was a Hodder Fellow at the Lewis Center for the Arts in the 2008-2009 school year.
The 24 scholars and artists receiving the fellowship were announced Tuesday by the MacArthur Foundation.
The so-called “genius grant” is given annually to between 20 and 40 U.S. citizens or residents who show exceptional promise in their creative work. Fellows, who are nominated anonymously, receive $625,000 over five years.
Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated the number of University-affiliated fellows this year. There were two. The ‘Prince’ regrets the error.
